City of Harrisonville considering legalizing UTVs

Driving utility task vehicles (UTVs) may soon become legal within the Harrisonville city limits.
The KC Parade of Hearts for Harrisonville was delivered Tuesday afternoon to the southside of the Cass County Courthouse. The heart is one of dozens around the Kansas City metro.

The city of Harrisonville has officially joined the Kansas City Parade of Hearts. The 5-foot stone, decorated heart made it way to the middle of Cass County on Tuesday afternoon. It was placed directly in front of the Cass County Courthouse steps.
The 7 Highway bridge over I-49 south of Harrisonville is now open. The project was completed ahead of schedule, according to a Missouri Department of Transportation press release.

Firefighters from five area departments were on the scene of a fire at the Dollar General Store at the intersection of Commercial and Mechanic streets this afternoon.
The Chill Spot, a new ice cream parlor in downtown Harrisonville, was busy with customers Monday for its first day of business. Owner Brent Goodall said the store was quite busy during its first couple hours, and again later in the evening. It is located at 103 W. Wall Street.

Adrian graduate headed to NCAA Gymnastics Championships

Dakota Essenpries, a 2023 Adrian graduate, begins her approach for the vault at a meet this season. Essenpries, a freshman at the University of Arkansas, and her team will be competing at the NCAA Championships on Thursday. The event will be televised on ESPN2.
Dakota Essenpries is loving her first year as a college gymnast, and she’s about to compete at the highest level this week. The 2023 Adrian graduate will be with her University of Arkansas team when it competes Thursday at the NCAA Championships semifinal session in Fort Worth, Texas.
As “Field of Dreams” taught us, if you build it, he will come. The often misquoted line of “If you build it, they will come,” makes more sense when it comes to girls or women’s sports.
While the Adrian boys track and field team had a strong performance at the Midway Invitational last week, the Midway girls squad may have itself one of the best quarter-milers in the state.
Just a week after breaking her own school record once again, Harrisonville sophomore Paige Cribbs did it again. This time, she demolished her previous mark.
With his team heading into a pair of home games, Harrisonville girls soccer coach Dan Coleman feels good about where his squad is at before it enters a stretch that contains five conference contests.
