George W. Sargent II

George W. Sargent II, 68, of Raymore, Missouri died on Monday, May 20, 2024, at his home. He was born on October 10, 1955, in Kansas City, MO. He was the son of George and Patricia “Atsy” Sargent.
George held many jobs throughout his life. He was a brick mason, truck driver, did construction, engine mechanic, and maintenance worker for Sprint. He did a stint in the JOB CORPS and in the US Navy. He loved to work and stay busy.
George lived in many places during his lifetime. He lived in Virginia, Montana, Washington DC, Tucson Arizona but always considered the farm in Peculiar, MO to be his home.
George was a dare devil, from his job of painting bridges over the Missouri River, wing walker on a biplane, to walking across the top of the bridge near the farm where he grew up. And none of us will forget him walking the ledge of the Liberty Memorial in downtown Kansas City! He loved playing sports, swimming, skiing, diving, board games, cards and driving anything with wheels including cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, forklifts, bicycles, and skateboards.
George was fearless in everything he did. He was funny, told great jokes, had a quick wit, was hardworking, and athletic. He had a laugh no one will ever forget.
George loved his family and was loved in return. He enjoyed life although struggled with many personal demons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mike and Steve Sargent; a sister, Mary Irvin; and a son, Cody Sargent.
George is survived by two sons, Adam and Ryan Sargent and his companion Brooke Fisher of Overland Park; five sisters, Patsy Sargent of Raymore, Cathrine Brammer and her husband Preston of Wichita, Susan Maldonado of Lawson, Kyle DeFrain and her husband Doug of Peculiar, Kris Darrah and her husband Rick of Lee’s Summit and Janie Richeson and her husband Michael of Bates City; four grandchildren; and 24 nieces and nephews as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
