After helping Archie win its first-ever football state championship in November, Briar McIntire was unable to play in his last possible high school game Saturday night.

After four years, Drew Smith has earned the right to be one of the head coaches at the 8-man Football Coaches Association all-star game.
Archie junior Mollie Andrews clears 12 feet, 0.75 inches, breaking the Class 2 state track and field meet record. Andrews won the pole vault state title and medaled in both of her hurdle races, while battling a hip flexor injury all weekend.
Andrews wins state championship, breaks Class 2 state meet record
JEFFERSON CITY — Mollie Andrews didn’t have the state track and field meet she wanted after a pair of top-three finishes in the hurdles last year, but she ended her season with a state record and championship.
Archie junior Mollie Andrews broke the school record in the pole vault last weekend at the Class 2 sectional meet. She cleared 11 feet, 11 inches and won the event.
Three school records fall at Class 1, 2 sectional meets
On Saturday, three school records were broken and a couple dozen athletes qualified for the Class 1 and 2 state track and field meets.
Midway freshman Moriah Perrenoud-Moore wins the 400-meter dash in a time of 1 minute and 2.84 seconds. Perrenoud-Moore has a been a dominant force in the 400 dash during the first month of the season.

While the Adrian boys track and field team had a strong performance at the Midway Invitational last week, the Midway girls squad may have itself one of the best quarter-milers in the state.

Harrisonville’s Kayleigh Norris runs down the home stretch with a big lead during the 1,600-meter run at the 2023 state track and field meet. Norris won the race, earning her first state title. She also placed second in the 800- and 3,200-meter runs at state. She’s back for her junior season, fresh off a state championship in cross country last fall.
