Students will have a new entrance to the Harrisonville football game tomorrow due to security concerns from recent home games.
“We have been trying to brainstorm together with regards to how we can better control some of the wide open gates and entrances that we have at our football games,” Superintendent Josh Chastain said at the school board meeting Tuesday night. “The last game that we had with those wide open gates and the Log Cabin Festival, kids were just in and out, parents were in and out and we had it where our visitors were in and out.”
Students will need to enter at the south gate at the lower circle drive at the southwest side of the stadium. They will also need to verify they are a student at Harrisonville by either showing their physical identification card or their Infinite Campus app on their phone.
Tomorrow the concession stand will also have dividers to help organize the line so people can more easily pass through.
Harrisonville High School Principal Mark Rorvig said there will be someone from administration stationed at the entrance to help check identification and lower the amount of people running in and out of the stadium. He said he hopes to have someone out there until halftime.
