Public meeting set for 7 Highway bridge project

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will host a public meeting regarding the replacement of the 7 Highway bridge south of Pleasant Hill that goes over Big Creek and the Rock Island Trail.

The truss-style bridge over Big Creek and the Rock Island Trail (Dr. Fred L. Seevers Memorial Bridge), was built in 1948, and is nearing the end of its service life and is scheduled to be replaced with a girder-style bridge. The bridge is located just north of Raffurty Road and just south of 1st Street in Pleasant Hill.

The public meeting will be held from 4-6 p.m. Monday in the commons area of Pleasant Hill High School, located at 1 Rooster Way, Pleasant Hill.

Attendees should enter through the front doors of the high school.

Construction is anticipated to take place from spring 2026 through the end of 2026. During construction, 7 Highway will be closed from 291 Highway to 58 Highway. Motorists are encouraged to use 58 Highway and 291 Highway during construction. The Rock Island Trail, under the bridge, will be intermittently closed during key stages of construction.

Please note that this is an open house-style meeting, and no formal presentations will be made.

Those interested can attend the meeting anytime between the advertised hours to ask questions, learn more about the project, and leave comments.
