Pair of Missouri residents face felony drug charges after traffic stop

A traffic stop Saturday led to a pair of arrests and felony drug charges in Freeman.

A Cass County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Main Street and 2 Highway in Freeman about 5:15 p.m. Saturday. The deputy made contact with 49-year-old Scott Schlesener, of Amsterdam, who revealed he had drug paraphernalia in his car. Deputies also found methamphetamine in his vehicle.

Schlesener was arrested, and deputies with the Criminal Apprehension Unit began an investigation. A search warrant was executed at 105 E Main St. in Freeman.

They found multiple pieces of paraphernalia and narcotic packaging items. Deputies also found several firearms at the residence, one of which the Johnson County, KS Sheriff’s Office confirmed was stolen.

Dana Bailey, 39, of Freeman has since been charged with two felonies and a misdemeanor. She is charged with a Class C Felony for Delivering a Controlled Substance and a Class D Felony for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Bailey’s Class D Misdemeanor charge is for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Schlesener is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, which is a Class D Felony. He is also charged with a Class D Misdemeanor for Driving While Revoked/Suspended.
