Lynn “Roger” Miller

August 16, 1943 – May 29, 2024

Lynn “Roger” Miller, age 80, of Branson, Missouri, joined his Heavenly Father on May 29, 2024. He entered this life August 16, 1943, the son of Charles and Velma Meachum- Ward in Los Angeles, California. Roger joined Teresa J. Sanders in marriage on June 7, 1969.

Roger served our country in the United Sates National Guard for 6 years. He worked 30 years for General Motors-Fairfax Plant in Kansas until 1993, and Dahmer Construction until 2012 where he and Teresa decided to retire in Branson, Missouri.

Roger and Teresa celebrated their wedding anniversary milestone of 50 years together on June 7th of 2019 amongst all beloved family. During their time in Branson Roger and Teresa enjoyed the local bluegrass and gospel music and they attended the Barbara Fairchild Ministry services.

With the love of the outdoors, Roger enjoyed trout fishing, hunting deer, rabbits, squirrels, and quail. Roger also had the gift of a “green thumb” and always liked growing his own fruits and vegetables as well as having the knack for canning them. Roger loved to cook, grill out, and bake with the love of feeding anyone at any time. Roger being a man of many talents and skills and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need, including strangers. There was never a challenge or task too great for Roger and he could fix anything that came across his workbench. He passed along these important life skills to his 2 daughters and to anyone who would be willing to learn. Roger acquired farming knowledge from the time he was a young man that he used in diverse ways all his life. He raised chickens, ducks, rabbits, and hogs as well as working a cattle farm of Charolais cattle over the years. 

To all who knew Roger Miller loved him with his humor, generosity, kindness, and the straight-shooting conversations the purely came natural to him. Roger had the purity of heart in his willingness to know you and help you with whatever you may need, whether it be his insurmountable amount of worldly advice or a simple task that needed attention. Roger being the hardworking, family man was loved by all and there was not even a stranger untouched by his approachable personality and generous nature. The memories and moments created over the years will be cherished by everyone who knew him.

BELOVED HUSBAND, FATHER, and GRANDFATHER

Roger Miller is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Teresa Miller of Branson; daughters: Dawn R. Dahmer, Lee’s Summit, and Tracie L. Miller of Hollister. Dawn’s husband, Marty Dahmer, and their children; Mikayla Dahmer, Bailey Berry, Carley Dahmer, and Blake Dahmer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles, and Velma Ward along with his brother, Charles Edward Miller.

There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering held in Roger’s Honor from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Lily’s Landing Pavilion, 367 River Lane in Branson, Missouri. The family has requested a casual dress code with camo, or overalls preferred. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Roger’s name may be made to Barbara Fairchild Ministries; Missouri Conservation; or National Rifle Association.
