Kansas man charged with sex crimes with 2 juveniles

An Emporia, Kansas man faces several charges relating to alleged sexual acts with a pair of middle school juveniles.

Austin Muse, 26, has been booked into the Cass County Jail with no bond allowed. He faces the following charges:

One count of Statutory Rape Or Attempted Statutory Rape - 1st Degree - Person Less Than 14 years of age; two counts of Statutory Sodomy Or Attempted Statutory Sodomy - Deviate Sexual Intercourse - Person Less Than 14 years of age; one count of Enticement Or Attempted Enticement of a Child (Actor 21 Years Of Age Or Older And Child Less Than 17 Years Of Age); three counts of Sexual Exploitation Of A Minor Child; and one count of Statutory Sodomy - 2nd degree.

In May, Harrisonville Police Department officers were notified of two middle school aged juveniles who had reportedly been involved in sexual acts with an adult male. During the investigation, the students smartphones were seized and evidence was extracted.

On Wednesday, investigators received the data from the phones, which exposed evidence of several sex crimes. The crimes occurred in public places around Harrisonville at all hours of the day.

Based on statements of the students, a suspect and his vehicle was identified. On Thursday, a Platte County officer contacted the suspect during a traffic stop. Harrisonville PD responded, and the suspect was arrested and transported to the Cass County Jail.

The incidents remain under investigation.
