A 66-year-old man, Todd Dickinson, was arrested Sunday afternoon and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, after local law enforcement officers served a search warrant of a home in the 600 block of North Independence Street in Harrisonville.
According to a city official, a search warrant was obtained after police received information that two persons were in unlawful possession of a firearm. The other party, who has not been named, was not at the scene.
Dickinson is being held without bond in the Cass County Jail.
The arrest was made about 3:45 p.m. City Clerk Daniel Barnett said there was no resistance in the arrest.
Neighbors were told to leave their houses. However, the scene had been cleared as of 6:15 p.m. Sunday.
