The iFIL USA plant in Harrisonville owned by the Donaldson Company is expanding. The filtration technology company is planning a $6.4 million expansion that will add an additional 35 jobs in Harrisonville.

The Missouri Department of Economic Development listed the Donaldson company's expansion in Harrisonville as one of nine major companies investing a total of $55 million in Missouri.

The city of Harrisonville Board of Aldermen approved an $800,000 tax abatement for the company earlier this month.

Prior to the Harrisonville location being selected for the company's expansion, the company was deliberating between expanding the Harrisonville location and another one in Tennesee.

Harrisonville City Administrator Brad Ratliff said the city is pleased to see the expansion bringing jobs to town.

"Any time there's an expansion like this, there is a positive economic impact to retail businesses around town," Ratliff said.

He also pointed out the potential benefits to the housing market as more employees mean a greater demand for housing.
