On Friday, the Harrisonville Fire Department will be having an open house to show its newly-renovated station that’s been under construction since the fall.
The fire station located at 903 S. Commercial St. has been being renovated since the end of November. The living quarters needed significant upgrades, according to Fire Chief Rusty Sullivan.
“We were so far out of fire code, it wasn’t even funny,” he said back in December.
There are two tours planned Friday – at 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. There will also be informational booths and tool demonstrations, and more at the open house.
