Gary Wayne Smith was born November 13, 1943, in Harrisonville to W.H. Smith and Nellie (Maxwell) Smith. He died February 23, 2025.
Gary attended Brush Col- lege Grade School, Harri- sonville High School, class of 1961 and completed a four-year apprenticeship, class of 1969, at Sheet Metal Union Local No. 2.
He married Georgia Carol Wilson in 1965. Gary and Georgia made their home in Freeman.
He is survived by his wife and two children, Heather L. and Troy L. Smith; two grandchildren, Hoyt T. and Hyde J. Smith; and nephews, Steve and Rick Schindler. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, JamesF.Smith; and sister, Darlene Schindler. Private inurnment FreemanCemetery.
