A Garden City man was arrested yesterday in Harrisonville for an alleged burglary and allegedly stealing a motor vehicle.
Kert Russell Hatfield has been charged with 1st Degree Burglary (Felony), 1st Degree Tampering with a Motor Vehicle (Felony), Stealing a Motor Vehicle (Felony), Aggravated Fleeing (Felony), Resisting with Arrest for a Felony (Felony), and Criminal Mischief (Misdemeanor).
Hatfield is currently being held at the Cass County Jail with no bond allowed.
Just after 5 p.m. yesterday, Harrisonville police officers were dispatched to a resident in the 900 block of East Pearl Street for a burglary in progress. The 911 caller said someone had entered their residence and then left.
The suspect allegedly stole the neighbor’s vehicle and drove away. Harrisonville officers found the vehicle and, along with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, used tire deflation devices to bring the vehicle to a stop near the Cass Regional Medical Center.
