Eugene Calvin Benbow, age 86, of Peculiar, Missouri, died Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, Missouri.  He was born November 12, 1938, to Admiral John and Ruby Fern Brown Benbow in Bates County, Missouri.

Eugene, one of two children, grew up in Bates County, Missouri.  He attended and graduated from Appleton City High School.  Growing up, Eugene worked on the family farm before hauling grain around the country.  He also spent many years on the road commission and was an Operating Engineer for Union 101.  Eugene was a member of the Masonic Lodge (Cass Lodge #147) of Harrisonville, Missouri.

Eugene was a man who lived a full and happy life.  With Marilyn, the love of his life by his side, he found joy in traveling the country.  When going to Butler, Missouri, Eugene’s granddaughters would join them, all enjoying cinnamon rolls and donuts.  While at home Eugene found comfort in spending time with his family watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals on television, or enjoying the outdoors, hunting and fishing.  When speaking of his family, Eugene’s eyes would twinkle with pride.  His story does not end here but lives on in the hearts and lives of those he touched and inspired.
