The Cass Community Health Foundation is offering free dog registration for the 30th Annual 5K for Health. The 5K is on May 4 at Southwick Stadium in Belton. It is an annual fundraiser for the foundation’s safety net dental clinic, Cass County Dental Clinic.

Registration for the 5K is $40 per person. Community members can register their dogs for free with the option of purchasing a $10 dog bandana that says, “Fetching Smiles.” All dogs are encouraged to wear their bandanas at the event.

Participants will be asked to line up for the race in the following order: runners without dogs, runners with dogs, first wave of walkers without dogs, second wave of walkers without dogs, and walkers with dogs.

In addition to registering dogs, walkers and runners are encouraged to create teams with friends, family, coworkers or neighbors. Every participant will receive the official 30th Annual 5K for Health T-shirt and a numbered bib. Additional prizes will be awarded to anyone raising $150 or more.

All registration fees and donations to the 5K will be used to support the children and teens served at Cass County Dental Clinic. The clinic operates at two locations in Belton and Harrisonville. Children up to age 20 who otherwise couldn’t afford quality dental care are treated at the clinic.
