Harrisonville and Pleasant Hill survived close games Tuesday night and will now face each other in the Class 2 District 7 championship game on Thursday.
In the first district semifinal contest, Pleasant Hill took a 1-0 lead and maintained it until the final two minutes when Oak Grove hit the game-tying shot. After two scoreless overtime periods, the Roosters won the penalty kick shootout, 4-3, clinching the victory.
The second game was scoreless at halftime between Harrisonville and Center, who had played just seven days earlier in a game that Harrisonville won in a PK shootout for the conference title. On Tuesday, Harrisonville scored a second-half goal and held on to win the game.
Harrisonville and Pleasant Hill will play at 5 p.m. Thursday in Harrisonville for the district title. The two rivals played Oct. 21 in Pleasant Hill, and Harrisonville won 6-1.
