With winter approaching and temperatures dropping, the Cass County Library Board of Trustees took action to making a better workspace for the employees at its newest building.
PLEASANT HILL – At its next meeting on Dec. 17, the board of education will have four options to consider regarding the capital projects funded with the district’s upcoming bond issue.
On Dec. 2 the Harrisonville Board of Aldermen is expected to vote on the fiscal year 2025 budget. Despite increases in water, sewer and electrical rates, the proposed budget is $41,997,191 compared to the 2024 budget of $45,203,620, meaning an 8 percent decrease.
Looking at the Cass County budget, an odd number stands out in its revenue projections: the income from the county marijuana tax is projected at $10 per year even though through the first 11 months of this year, marijuana sales have brought in $617,573.78 in the county.
Jeff Fletcher’s election to the District 2 County Commissioner seat will create a vacancy as county clerk, the position he currently holds. The office is not up for election until 2026, so a gubernatorial appointment will be required to fill the post.
