Just two weeks after breaking her own school 5K school record, Harrisonville junior Kayleigh Norris has done it again.
Today, she beat a talented field at the Missouri Southern Stampede in Joplin. It marked Norris’ third win in as many meets.
Norris won the meet with a time of 17 minutes and 43.42 seconds. Her time of 17:43.42 beat the second runner by nine seconds.
Her time broke her own previous school record, which was set Sept. 2 in Liberty, was 18:16.3. Last spring, Norris continually broke school records in the 800-, 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs on the track.
According to the Harrisonville cross country release on social media, Norris’ time today was the fastest time in Class 4 since 2010.
