Pair of circus shows coming to Pleasant Hill on Saturday

PLEASANT HILL — The circus is coming to town.

The Optimist Club of Pleasant Hill is sponsoring two performances by The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus on Saturday. The performances will be at 2 and 4:30 p.m.

Founded in 1985, the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus is an action-packed, 90-minute show which is family oriented, The show features acts high in the air, animal acts and fast-paced ring activity.

All performances will be at the Cass County Fairgrounds on 58 Highway just west of downtown Pleasant Hill.

Advance tickets are currently on sale and are $13 for adults and children’s (ages 2 to 12) are $8. On day-of-circus, no advance tickets are available. Full price at the gate will be adult $16 and children $9.

Tickets can be purchased at: Goppert Financial Bank, Community Bank of Pleasant Hill, Guido’s and Pleasant Hill City Hall.

This fundraiser enables the local Optimist Club to continue its 20-year mission of working together to “bring out the best in kids.” The club continues to sponsor its many yearly, youth initiatives including: monthly Super Citizen awards; Bike Rodeo co-sponsorship with the PHPD during the Cass County. Fair; Senior Scholarships; Youth Appreciation; Munch-a-Lunch nutritional support; beginner swimming lessons; mental health awareness; library support; Respect-for-Law initiative; Adopt-a-Family and Santa treat bags and many more.
