Cass County Sheriff’s investigation discovered dog remains

Investigators with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office spent the better part of Saturday investigating what turned out to be animal remains.

Rocks were intentionally arranged with trinkets around what turned out to be a dog’s grave.

“We got all dress up for nothing,” said Lt. Jess Claibourn with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. “We are happy it turned out to be animal remains,” he said.

Cass County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 23600 block of 267th Street near the Glen Eagle subdivision at approximately 9:45 a.m. Saturday after the property’s owner discovered what appeared to be a gravesite.

The investigation was wrapped up at approximately 4:30 p.m.
