Ronald Francis Crisp
July 18, 1934 – April 19, 2022

Ronald Francis Crisp was born July 18, 1934, to Marion Oscar and Annie Mae Crisp in Harrisonville. He died April 19 in Springfield.

Ronald married Patricia Pearl Ford Jan. 29, 1955. They had four children, Rhonda, Michael, Jacklyn and Daniel.

Ronald was preceded in death by his wife Patricia; his parents, Marion and Annie; his sisters, Amy Crisp, Alice McMillan and Betty Jean Sutton; a son-in-law, Philip Moore; and a daughter-in-law, Jackie Kenny Crisp.

Ronald is survived by a sister, Wanda Hewitt, Wichita, Kansas; and brothers, Dennis Crisp, Yuna, Arizona, and Lyman Crisp, Springfield; four children, Rhonda Moore, Adrian, Michael Crisp, Springfield, Jacklyn Jones and husband, Doug, Archie, and Daniel and wife Carolyn, Springfield; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Elaine Gunnels
March 8, 1937 – April 16, 2022

Elaine Gunnels, 85, Archie, died April 16 at her home.

Elaine was born March 8, 1937, in Archie, a daughter of Alton “Tom” DeVerne and Thelma Elizabeth (George) Christiansen.

She was a lifelong Archie resident and was a 1955 graduate of Archie High School.

She continued her education at Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in 1959.

Elaine was married to Stanley E. Gunnels June 16, 1961, in Archie.

Elaine was a high school and elementary music teacher for 33 years and taught at Miami Schools in Amoret; Butler High School, Butler; and McEowen Elementary School, Harrisonville. She also had served as the church music director at Butler First Baptist Church and the Antioch Southern Baptist Church in Harrisonville. Elaine is a member and former organist of the Harrisonville First Baptist Church. She was baptized in 1948 and remained active in the church her whole life as a Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School leader, organist, and music leader.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harold Christiansen; and one infant sister, Dorothy.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley Gunnels, of the home; two daughters: Debbie Bellis, Archie, and Lisa Hern and husband, James, Harrisonville; three grandchildren, Jason Bellis, Tyler Hern and Landon Hern; four great-grandchildren: Blake Hunter, Skylar Bellis, Callie Bellis and Bailey Bellis; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were April 22 at the First Baptist Church in Harrisonville, with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian.

Contributions may be made to the Harrisonville First Baptist Church.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
