Harrisonville is again the site of the filming of a motion picture. Dylan Welter of King Productions is producing and directing a movie about a prison inmate in solitary confinement and is using the old Cass County Jail on Pearl Street as its location. Because the movie is being filmed indoors on a tight schedule, the area is not open to the public, but Welter said once filming is completed the area may be opened for the public to see the set. He hopes the movie will be ready for release in the later-half of 2022. Harrisonville was the site of filming for the television movie “The Day After” which was released in 1983.
