Scouting in Adrian

By Jerry Ferguson

Adrian is sure a Boy Scouts of America town. Our Troup 238 has a rich history with many local men having grown up and being a part of the troop.

Men have moved from Scouting to leading regularly.

The most recent Eagle Scout is a prime example of where Scouting is here. Walker Watts has grown up in the program and is the third generation in Adrian Scouting.

Walker began his career in Tiger Cubs followed by Cub Scout, Webelos and now Boy Scouts.

To be an Eagle Scout he was required to complete a community service project. With the troop’s help, he has built raised beds for a community garden through the Adrian Vocational Agriculture program.

Local residents will have access to this garden free of charge.

Walker is a Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say which is an honor society within the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation.
