The city of Harrisonville has appointed a new municipal judge and municipal prosecutor for the first time since 1991.
Judge Don Lograsso will assume position as municipal judge. Lograsso is a lifelong resident of Jackson County and has practiced general law since 1981.
He served as a State Rep. from Eastern Jackson County from 1991 to 2003 and served as municipal judge in Blue Springs from October 2003 until December 2019. He has also served as the municipal judge for Buckner from October 2010 to the present.
Lograsso was appointed by the Missouri Supreme Court in 2019 to serve on the committee on Practice and Procedures in Municipal Divisions Cases and he continues to serve on the committee presently.
Alongside the appointment of a new municipal judge is the appointment of municipal prosecutor Sarah Carnes of Lauber Municipal Law, LLC.
Carnes practices in the areas of general municipal law, municipal prosecution, public entity litigation, public contracts, ordinance drafting and other general municipal issues.
Prior to joining Lauber Municipal Law, LLC in 2020, Carnes served as the utilities counselor for the city of Independence.
She also previously served as general counsel for the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and attorney for Texas Department of Public Safety.
