Robert “Bobby” Dean Anderson, 61, Harrisonville, died May 2 at his home in
Harrisonville.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Contributions are suggested to Hope City, 5101 E. 24th St., Kansas City, MO 64127.
Bobby was born Aug. 8, 1958, in Harrisonville, the son of Charles Robert and Lois Evadean (Crisp) Anderson. He raised in Harrisonville and moved to Bay City, Texas, where he lived from 1977 to 1982, before eventually returning to Missouri.
Bobby spent his career working in construction, working for several different companies through the years.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Anderson; and sisters: Darla Neal and Robin Anderson.
He is survived by his son, Robert Brian Anderson, Rosenberg, Texas; his daughter, Sara Muniz, Bay City, Texas; his sister, Jan and Roger Wainwright, Raymore; and five grandchildren, Ilyssa Jo Muniz, Ryker Chase Muniz, Sophia Bell Anderson, Oliver James Dean Anderson and Penelope Rose Anderson.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Max B. Herrick, Jr.
Aug. 13, 1946 – May 2, 2020
Max B. Herrick Jr., 73, Peculiar, lost
his life May 2 as a result of an accident
on I-49 north of Harrisonville.
A private family funeral service, with military honors, was May 11 at the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville. Burial followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville.
Max was born Aug. 13, 1946, in East Lynne, the son of Max B. and Mary E. (Loehr) Herrick.
He was raised by his aunt and uncle, David and Peggy Loehr, who treated him as a son. He grew up in the Kansas City area and was a 1964 graduate of Northeast High School in Kansas City.
Max was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving 1968 through 1970. After his discharge from the Army, he was married to Terry A. Collins April 18, 1970, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Kansas City. They moved to Peculiar in 1976.
Max worked as a machinist for Twin City Tool in Olathe, Kansas, and later worked as a custodian for the Raymore-Peculiar School District for 20 years before his retirement.
He was a member of the Peculiar Lions Club, VFW Post 4409 in Harrisonville and the Rock Brook Church in Belton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Harry Carpenter; his uncle, David Loehr; grandson, Adam Herrick; brothers, Bernard Herrick, Mickey Herrick, Doug Loehr and Kevin Loehr; and three sisters, Mary Louise Herrick, Shari Lovette and Nancy Smith.
Max is survived by his wife, Terry Herrick, Peculiar; two sons, Robert and Debra Herrick, Harrisonville, and Dennis and Andrea Herrick, Peculiar; a daughter, Robbin and Mike Abbott, Kingsville; his aunt, Peggy Loehr, Hermitage; his brothers, James Tavis, Edwardsville, Kansas, and Rick and Linda Loehr, Liberty; three sisters, Barbara and Bill Strickland, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Linda Bates, Battle Creek, Michigan, and Diane and Bill Hoover, Cedar Springs, Michigan; five grandchildren, Lori Lenhart-Abbott, Cody Lenhart-Abbott, Clint Herrick, Emma Herrick and Chloe Herrick; one great-grandson, Benjamin Abbott; his dog and best friend, Millie; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Viola M. Huiatt
March 10, 1927 – May 4, 2020
Viola Marie Huiatt, Harrisonville, was born March 10, 1927, in West Line, the daughter of Ernest Ray and Lillie Mae (Musick) Maloney.
She died May 4 at the Crown Care Center, Harrisonville, at the age of 93 years, 1 month and 24 days.
Dec. 1, 1950, Marie married Junior Dick Huiatt in Kansas City.
Marie was employed as an accounting supervisor for BMA Insurance Company, Kansas City, until her retirement.
She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Harrisonville.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Huiatt, Feb. 22, 2009; two sisters, Lavone Croson and Dixie Mae Allen; three brothers-in-law, Charles Croson, Charles B. Land and Charles Allen.
Marie is survived by her sister, Amanda Lou Land, Winfield, Kansas; three nephews, William Croson and wife, Kathy, Blue Springs, Donald Land and wife, Beth, Cedar Vale, Kansas, and Robert Land and wife, Lisa, Anchorage, Alaska; and many friends.
A private graveside service was held at the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville.

Lisa June Mitchell, 58, Garden City, died May 6 at her home in Garden City.
She is survived by two sons, Joey Don Stillwell and wife, Maria, and Dylan
Troy Michael Mitchell; two daughters, Randi Alise Mitchell and Melinda Gail Mitchell; nine grandchildren; a brother, John Eldon Boyle; three sisters, Verna Burkhart, LaDonna Ruth and Anetta Bogart; other relatives and friends.
Cremation. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
