Loretta “Judy” Dryden

Loretta Judith “Judy” Dryden, Clinton, was born Jan. 6, 1943, in St. Louis, the daughter of Joseph and Bonnie (Watkins) Fischer.
She died Oct. 3 at her home at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 27 days.
Aug. 14, 1961, Judy was married to Donald Lynn Dryden in St. Louis.
Judy was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bingo, scratch-off tickets and, when she was younger, bowling in a bowling league. Her life was taking care of Don and her family, especially the great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Daisy Sheets and her six siblings.
Judy is survived by her husband, Don Dryden, of the home; three sons, Don Dryden and Dan Dryden, both of Garden City, Ron Dryden, Creighton; a daughter, Bonnie Dickerson and husband, Bruce, Urich; six grandchildren, Kristina, Justin, Michael, Loretta, Michelle and Jeremy; three great-grandchildren, Lily, Olivia and Kimber; two sisters, Bonnie Sue Sullivan and husband, Dennis, and Jackie Hughes, all of Sacramento, California; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were Oct. 7 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, with burial in the Garden City Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City.
Dorothy J. Hall
Aug. 28, 1928 – Oct. 26, 2019
Dorothy J. Hall, 91, Cedarcreek, formerly of Belton, died at her home Oct. 26 surrounded by her loving daughters and son-in-law.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 16 at Belton Cemetery, Belton.
Dorothy was born Aug. 28, 1928, in Macon, the daughter of Frank J. Lewis and Effie E. (Rissler) Lewis.
Shortly after graduating high school, Dorothy was joined in marriage with her late husband, William G. Hall, March 1, 1950. Together they were blessed with four children, Michael (stillborn), Sidney, Terry and Yvonne.
For many years, Dorothy worked for Southwestern Bell as a long-distance telephone operator. Dorothy also was a bus driver for the Belton School District for 10 years. Sadly in 1999, she was faced with the death of her husband, William, and son, Sidney (Bobbie).
In life she found comfort and happiness in her grandchildren. Dorothy loved her family first and foremost, however she often enjoyed painting, crafting and sewing.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, William G. Hall; son, Michael W. Hall; and son Sidney G. Hall.
She is survived by her two loving daughters, Terry L. Dean (Bearl, Jr.), Freeman, and Yvonne C. Tate (Dale), Cedarcreek; two brothers, Thomas F. Lewis (Bernice), Macon, and Jimmie D. Lewis (JoAnn), Mountain Home, Arkansas; and nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania, Ave., Kansas City, MO 64105.

Pauline C. Knoderer
July 19, 1933 – Oct. 25, 2019
Pauline Christine Knoderer, 86, Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Harrisonville, died Oct. 25 at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park.
A funeral mass was Nov. 2 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, with inurnment at a later date in Maine. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Pauline was born July 19, 1933, to Maurice and Evette Roy in Rumford, Maine. She was one of five children growing up. Pauline served in the United States Navy as a nurse. She continued her passion for nursing into a career, working primarily for hospitals, but also in the home health field.
She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church, attending Our Lady of Lourdes in Harrisonville.
In her pastime, she would enjoy a game of bingo or cribbage and also liked knitting.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Kristianne Davis; and her sister, Nicole Jane.
She is survived by her son, Michael Knoder, (Linda Stalder); two daughters, Gabrielle Kirk (Carl) and Denise Maione (Rob); six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Moe Roy, Dennis Roy and Pat Roy.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.

Billy E. Smith
June 9, 1931 – Oct. 24, 2019
Billy Earl Smith, 88, Harrisonville died Oct. 24 at Golden Years Care Center, Harrisonville.
Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville, with visitation from 4 to 5 p.m.
Billy was born June 9, 1931, in Urich, the son of Albert Earl and Nellie Mabel (Craig) Smith.
He married Evelyn Gertrude Ashford Oct. 18, 1952, in Harrisonville. He was a lifelong resident of Cass County.
Billy worked for Anaconda in Harrisonville as a machinist for 30 years. He was a member of Grace Tabernacle in Harrisonville. Billy was the last elected city marshal of Harrisonville.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn, May 24, 1997; and a son, David Smith.
He is survived by a son, Danny Smith, Harrisonville; a brother, Wayne Smith, Harrisonville; a grandson, Nathan Smith (Deidra); a granddaughter, Justine Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Barrett and Evelyn.
