Harrisonville schools starting annual food drive

Students and staff in the Harrisonville School District will soon be collecting
food for the annual food drive. This year’s drive is once again being conducted inconjunction with the HHS Drama Department’s Trick or Treat so Tots Can Eat program.

HHS Drama Club members will be “trick-or-treating” for donations from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 22 in the neighborhoods around the high school.

The school drive will take place theweek of Oct. 28-31 at all district build-
ings.

The district is seeking business, church or organization partners for each building.
Community groups are invited to collect food and partner with one of the district schools. Those interested in being a food drive partner should call Jill Filer at 816- 380-2727, ext. 1224.
The week’s theme centers on the Trick or Treat holiday with the focus on different parts of the meal for each day’s donations.

• Monday, Oct. 28: Monster Main Dish-
es (tuna, pasta, beans)

• Tuesday, Oct. 29: Scary Sides (canned
fruits and vegetables, rice, macaroni)
• Wednesday, Oct. 30: Ghostly Goodies
(cake/cookie mixes, sugar, flour, jello)
• Thursday, Oct. 31: Creepy Kids Food
(baby food, cereal, oatmeal)

Individual community members interested in participating can drop off donations at any district building or any Bright Futures Blue Barrel.

Donations will also be collected as the admission fee at the Trunk-or-Treat on the Square from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 27.

All donations will be given to the Shepherd’s Staff Food Pantry sponsored by theHarrisonville Ministerial Alliance.
