Wildcats claim postseason honors

Members of the Harrisonville High School fall sports teams have been recently presented postseason honors.

Girls Softball

For the HHS softball team Academic All-Conference, honors were presented to Hailee Ricker, Alyssa Wilson, Hattie Wilson, Hanna Scott and Lillian Davis. To the All-MRCV Conference team, Lucy Shopper was a first team selection. Second team honorees were Davis and Meadow Vassar. Honorable mentions were Ricker, Wilson and Julea Abernathy.

Named to the All-District first team were Shopper, Davis and Vassar. Second team selections were Addison Sousley, Ricker and Abernathy. All-Region honorees were Shopper on the first team and Davis and Vassar to the second team.

In team honors Vassar was named defensive player of the year, Shopper was offensive player of the year, Abernathy won the True-Blue Award and the Christina Collins Award was presented to Samantha Cummins and Megan Ball.

Girls Volleyball

From the HHS volleyball team Brooke Miller was named to the All-MRVC second team and was also an honorable mention all-district pick.

Team awards were:

Offensive players of the year: Miller, Varsity; Chayah Cunningham, JV; and Kylie Meeks, C team. Defensive players of year were: Madi Barnes, Varsity; Kate Eickhorst, JV; and Chloe Shepard, C Team. Most Improved awards went to: Mallory Saffels, Varsity; Desta Mitchell, JV; and Greta Maxwell, C Team. The Hustle award winners were: Rylee Smalley, Varsity; Emily Gray, JV; and Skyla Thresher, C Team.

Girls Tennis

All-Conference honorees from the girls tennis team were Hannah Kreimeyer, second-team singles and doubles; Bailey Kliewer, third-team singles and second-team doubles; Caitlyn Costner, first-team singles and second-team doubles; Tabi Davis, third-team singles and second-team doubles; Morgan Evans, first-team singles and third-team doubles; and Kaelin Holden, third-team doubles.

Girls Golf

Four members of the HHS girls golf team were named Academic All-Conference: Jillyan Talmage, Maddie Hoffman, Taylor Kelley and Maria Styron. Talmage was also honored as All-Conference, All-District, seventh place and a state qualifier.

Cross Country

Members of the HHS cross country teams selected to the Academic All-Conference team were Jaxon Mensching, Eli Parris, Nick Saffels, George Frees and Kaylee Harp. All-Conference selections were Harp (Conference Champion) and Conner Blixt. Harp and Blix were All-District selections and Harp was an All-State honoree.

Boys Soccer

From the HHS boys soccer team, Academic All-Conference honorees were Connor Blentlinger, Austen Cesnois, Michael Dahn, Jack DeVenney, Evan Filer, Bryce Jenkins, Ayllip Khieu, Ethan Kohl, Dalton Lawson, Montgomery Schroeder and Seth Steinbrook.

First-team All-Conference honorees were Blentlinger, Filer, Kobe Norris and Schroeder. Second-team selections were Cesnois, DeVenney and Logan Johnson. All-District selections were Blentlinger, Filer, Johnson, Norris and Schroeder. Blentlinger was named the regional offensive player of the year, and joining him on the All-Region team were Filer and Norris.

Blentlinger was also named first-team All-State and Filer was given honorable mention.

In school awards Blentlinger set the single-season record for goals with 55 and the career record with 125.

Football

Academic All-Conference honorees from the football team were Zach Chaney, Keigan Rowe, Landon George, Carson Crowley, Trevor Campbell, Colin Caruthers, River Riley and Josh Pesek.

Earning first-team All-Conference honors offensively were Brody Rogers on the offensive line and Colby Knowles at wide receiver. Isaiah Patrick was a first team selection at linebacker. Crowley was a second team pick at defensive back and Braydon Tarwater was second team return specialist.

Football All-District and All-State selections have not yet been named.
