Learn to code
Girls in grades six through 12 are invited to attend these Girls Who Code sessions that are designed to inspire, educate and equip girls with computing skills to pursue 21st century opportunities.
The sessions will meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Dec. 11 in the computer lab at the Harrisonville branch of the Cass County Public Library.

Breastfeeding support group to meet
Cass Regional Medical Center, the Cass County Health Department and Amy Hall, certified lactation counselor, will host a breastfeeding support group meeting at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Thursdays of the month (Nov. 8 and 22). The meeting will be held at Cass Regional Medical Center in conference rooms 1 and 2, located directly inside the main entrance of the hospital at 2800 E. Rock Haven Rd., Harrisonville.

Free community health screenings at Commerce Bank
Cass Regional Medical Center is providing free health screenings from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 16 at the Commerce Bank, 1301 S. Locust St., Harrisonville.
Receive free blood pressure, blood oxygen and blood sugar screenings and obtain a free total lipid profile, which measures total cholesterol, HDL, LDL and triglycerides. For most accurate results, screening participants are asked to fast for at least 12 hours prior to the screening and take medications as usual (with water only). No appointments are necessary.

Seniors invited to banquet
Local senior citizens are invited to the annual Senior Citizens’ Thanksgiving Banquet Nov. 19 hosted by the Harrisonville High School Student Council.
The banquet will take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Harrisonville High School gymnasium.
After the traditional Thanksgiving dinner, entertainment will be provided by the HHS jazz band and the show choir, Music Makers.
There is no RSVP needed for this event.

Donations are being accepted at three levels – $20 for turkey, $50 for dinner and $100 for the event.
